What should be reviewed for this application

The application name is only a starting point. Material direction and manufacturing route should be reviewed against the actual load, wear pattern, geometry, mating parts and downstream processing.

Target, powder, hardfacing and finished-coating projects require different technical inputs. For targets, composition, purity direction, geometry, density, backing or mounting method and surface condition are important. For spray or cladding materials, chemistry, particle-size distribution, morphology, deposition process and substrate should be stated. No single target composition or powder range is suitable for every coating system.
